To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Fireman Sam brand, The Golden Helmet Awards launched in March 2017.
The six winners have since been revealed at an exclusive awards ceremony at The Soho Hotel in Central London on Wednesday May 31st 2017.
On the night, winners were presented with their Golden Helmet Award and a £500 cheque by Fireman Sam himself and representatives of the South Wales Fire and Rescue Services.
Ruth Helm was recognised with the Community Hero gong, Kareem Ali and Team Freddie (Marc Whitman, Emma Fullard, Bonnie Slade and Debbie King) received the Inspiration to Others, while William Bishop and Jackdean Lower received the Outstanding Bravery award.
Elsewhere, Gideon Jones was named Young Hero of the Year.
“We were overwhelmed by the number of amazing entries we received for the first ever Fireman Sam Golden Helmet Awards, with so many incredible stories from across the country that drew attention to so many everyday heroes,” said Helen Genia, senior consumer products manager of hardlines for Europe and the UK at Mattel.
