DHX Brands has appointed VTech as the licensee for interactive electronic toys for the new Teletubbies series.

Product is set to roll out from autumn/winter 2016 in the UK, followed by the core European territories, France, Germany, Benelux, Iberia and Australia and New Zealand.

“We are delighted to welcome VTech on board as a leading electronic toy company as this is an integral category in the consumer products strategy for new Teletubbies," said Peter Byrne, EVP, DHX Brands.

"We also anticipate extending the roll out to additional markets as broadcast is secured internationally.”

Andrew Barrett, VTech Europe's director of product development and licensing added: "We were delighted with our Infant product performance in 2014, where VTech is now by far the N°1 Infant supplier across Europe (UK/France/Germany/Spain and the Benelux), according to NPD - and to now be working with DHX and their Teletubbies brand on the re launch of this very exciting children's license, where it will be endorsed by Mums, and loved by children - will strengthen our range still further".

The new 60-episode series of Teletubbies will feature the same much-loved characters but with a 'refreshed, contemporary look'.
