Vivid takes on iCarly and H2O

Vivid is launching Playmates' iCarly and H2O ranges at ExCeL, based on the Nickelodeon shows.
Publish date:

The ranges are scheduled to hit the toy shelves this summer as part of a range of toys and tween electronics. Vivid, in conjunction with Playmates, will launch both ranges with TV advertising and PR support.

iCarly, the number one show on Nickelodeon in 2008, showcases the life of teenager Carly Shay (played by Miranda Cosgrove) who becomes an overnight tween sensation presenting her very own live web TV show called iCarly. Vivid’s product line will encompass dolls, playsets, electronics and role play items and will be TV supported from August.

H20, another of Nickelodeon’s top girls’ shows, is filmed on Australia’s Gold Coast and follows the lives of three teenage secret mermaids with magical water powers. The girls face the usual dramas of adolescence, which are further complicated by their secret double lives.

Now in its third series, H20 lends itself perfectly to classic doll play and Vivid will launch a full line of feature-packed dolls, vehicles and playsets from July, again TV advertised.

"The UK market is crying out for fresh new girls' properties and Nickelodeon have two very hot properties in iCarly and H20 that convert perfectly into toy ranges," stated Paul Weston, Vivid’s UK Chief Executive. "We believe that both these tween girl licenses will fill the void being left in the girls market by declining Barbie and Bratz sales."

Clare Piggott, VP, Consumer Products for Nickelodeon, added:"We’re absolutely delighted to be bringing iCarly and H2O product to the girls toy market for the first time. They are fantastic shows with incredible scope for development and Vivid is making the most of their potential."
