Vivid Imaginations’ founders Nick Austin and Alan Bennie (pictured right and left respectively) received Lifetime Achievement Awards at the BTHA industry day yesterday.

The pair picked up the awards as their toy company celebrates its 20th anniversary year.

“Nick Austin and Alan Bennie’s contribution to the toy industry has been absolutely immense,” said the British Toy and Hobby Association's president Clive Jones.

“Under their creation and leadership, Vivid has become firmly established as one of the UK’s Top Five toy companies – a truly magnificent achievement.

“This lifetime achievement award is thoroughly deserved by them both.”

The BTHA's annual general meeting and industry day also saw former Tomy CEO Robert Mann receive the Toy Trust Outstanding Achievement Award.

Several guest speakers were at the event giving speeches and presentations, including British Retail Consortium’s director general Stephen Robertson, and British athlete star Jonathan Edwards.
