VEGAS 2011: Toy Story 3 gets top Licensing Expo award

Lego, Jakks and Hello Kitty were also honoured at the Vegas ceremony.

The licensing programme for the Disney-Pixar production was chosen as the best from over 220 entries. 

LIMA presented 15 International Licensing Excellence Awards in total.

Charles Riotto, president of LIMA, commented: "It is extremely gratifying to see the breadth and quality of the programs created by the licensing community from around the globe."

Elsewhere Sanrio’s Hello Kitty won a trio of honours for Best Character/Toy Brand Programme and Best Character/Toy Brand Licensee in both the Hard (Smart USA) and Soft (Loungefly) categories.

Lego’s Harry Potter series of toys won the Best Film, Television, Celebrity or Entertainment Licensee award.

Jakks Pacific was named Best Sports Licensee for its UFC line of action figures.
