US TOY FAIR: Mattel unveils Barbie's latest career move

The 125th and 126th career dolls see Barbie become a news anchor and computer analyst.

Mattel recently conducted an online poll to choose Barbie's 125th career, asking Twitter followers and fans on Facebook to help make the career decision by voting at www.Barbie.com/Vote.

The winners were announced at New York Toy Fair and include News Anchor Barbie and Computer Engineer Barbie.

The doll chosen for the 125th career, winning the 'Girls Vote,' was News Anchor Barbie. The doll will wear a pink suit and black high-heel shoes and will be available in the autumn of 2010.

The winner of the "Popular Vote" for the 126th career was Computer Engineer Barbie who will debut in the winter of 2010.

Designers worked closely with the Society of Women Engineers and the National Academy of Engineering to create an appropriate wardrobe and accessories for the doll.

It will come with with a smart phone, Bluetooth headset, and laptop travel bag.
