US: LeapPad sells out in two weeks

Leapfrog has sold out of pre-sale units of the tablet learning device.

LeapFrog will provide additional quantities of LeapPad to major retailers in late August.

"We are extremely pleased with the performance of LeapPad during this initial availability," said John Barbour, chief executive officer at LeapFrog.

"Every year, there is a must-have product on every child's holiday wish list and I strongly believe that LeapPad is going to be at the top of many of those lists."

LeapPad is designed for children aged four and over and Leapfrog unveiled the product in the UK in late June.
