US: Hasbro wins Buzz Bee case

Firm wins case against Buzz Bee Toys for patent infringement of Super Soaker brands.
Publish date:

Hasbro filed a case against Buzz Bee in June 2010, seeking to prevent the firm from infringing its US patent relating to the Nerf Super Soaker water product patent.

As part of the Consent Judgment, Buzz Bee acknowledged that certain parts of its water gun products infringe Hasbro's patent.

Buzz Bee is now permanently forbidden from manufacturing, marketing or selling any product which utilises Hasbro's Nerf Super Soaker water product patent.

"We are very pleased with the result of this Consent Judgment and Hasbro will continue to vigorously pursue companies who misappropriate our intellectual property for their own profit," said Wayne Charness, Hasbro's SVP of corporate communications.
