US: Cartoon Network green-lights Steven Universe toy lines

Funko, Just Toys International, PhatMojo, Toy factory and Zag Toys are all now on board to develop toys based on the series.

Cartoon Network has secured a raft of new partners to bring hit animated series Steven Universe its first range of toys.

Funko, Just Toys International, PhatMojo, Toy factory and Zag Toys are all now on board to develop a collection of toys based on the series.

The collection will launch primarily across the US with the first swathe of Pop Vinyl figures from Funko arriving in time for Christmas 2015. The range will feature Steven and the Gems (Amethyst, Pearl and Garnet).

Meanwhile, Just Toys will roll out an assortment of blind bag novelty products including dog tags, fun packs, minis, 3D backpack hangers and more.

Following this, PhatMojo will launch an assortment of plushes as well as foam and plush weapons inspired by the show in spring 2016, while Zag Toys will debut collectable mini figures such as bobble heads.

Toy Factory will complete the planned line up with a collection of plush and assorted novelty items in 2017.

Season two of Steven Universe is currently airing on Cartoon Network.
