Tabletop Gaming is getting a new consumer facing event here in the UK, with the launch of Tabletop Gaming Live.

The board gaming convention will see thousands of gamers from across the country head to London’s Alexandra Palace for a weekend of playing and purchasing the year’s newest board game releases.

Tabletop Gaming Live will take place on Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30 2018, marking the inaugural convention run by the team behind the consumer magazines Tabletop Gaming and Miniature Wargames.

The event will celebrate every type of analogue gaming, including board games, card games, roleplaying games, miniatures, wargames, party games, family games and more.

Among the newest releases on the show floor will be the likes of Forbidden Sky, a new title from the creator of Pandemic, Matt Leacock, as well as the latest title from the creator of Magic: The Gathering, Richard Garfield, a board game called Keyforge: Call of the Archons.

The event will house swathes of publishers, retailers and studios such as Fantasy Flight Games, Catan Studio, Days of Wonder, Z-Man Games, Thames & Kosmos, PlayFusion, Big Potato, Tactic Games and more.

An open gaming area and free game library will also feature, as well as a dedicated participation and demo area.

On top of this, Alexandra Palace’s West hall will be hosting talks, seminars, panels and workshops with designers, experts, members of the Tabletop Gaming magazine team and more over the course of the weekend.

“We’re ridiculously excited to launch the Tabletop Gaming Live convention in London’s Alexandra Palace this September 29th and 30th," Matt Jarvis, editor of Tableop Gaming, told ToyNews.

"It really will bring all that’s great about the Tabletop Gaming and Miniature Wargames magazines to life in a beautiful setting, giving visitors the chance to play some truly fantastic games and hang out with friends old and new.

"We’ll have some of the brand new games from Gen Con in the US available to play at the show, as well as early looks at some of the hot releases coming up at Essen Spiel in October. It’s not all about playing the latest and greatest games and our line-up of speakers, panels and workshops will give those who love games of all types, be it board games, RPGs or miniatures, the chance to hear from some of the designers behind their favourite games and learn more about what makes this hobby so special and unique."

Tickets for Tabletop Gaming Live are available now from Ticket Factory, with prices starting at £10.
