Turner has invested in the fledgling UK gaming portal TeePee Games.
The partnership will see Turner properties “increase content across a range of gaming formats including social, mobile and flash.”
TeePee Games is due to launch in a few weeks time. The service aims to provide the solution to the fragmented world of casual gaming.
With its discovery engine, TeePee allows users to find, filter and store games from a multitude of sources such as Facebook, Flash game portals and Android handsets. Close to 3,000 games will be available on launch, with Facebook accounting for 2,500 of them.
The move builds on Turner Broadcasting Europe’s recent investment in Starlounge, an online celebrity news portal.
“This series of deals signals Turner Broadcasting’s readiness to act on relevant investment and partnership opportunities in the digital and gaming space”, said Jeff Kupsky, president of TBS Europe.
Casey Harwood, senior VP of TBS Europe added: “By investing in TeePee Games, Turner will strengthen its already robust digital gaming distribution and provide consumers with new ways of discovering and interacting with its games and characters on popular social networks like Facebook.”
Although still in its development phase, TeePee is inviting people to sign up and play games now at www.teepeegames.com.
