Trunki is bolstering its head count as it welcomes two new industry veterans to its sales team this month.

Claire Hamilton has joined as 'Sales Sheriff' and will be responsible for the firm's key and national accounts.

She will work alongside the company's second new appointment, Mike Hartshorn, who is taking over as 'Sales Marshall'.

Hamilton boasts a wealth of sales experience having worked as a sales representative for LEGO.

She said: "I am thrilled to have joined the team, Trunki is a dynamic brand that I really admire."

Hartshorn takes over from Toby Davies who now prepares to take on Trunki sales in the US. Mike joins from Wow stuff and boasts extensive sales and operations experience in the toy and gift industry.

He said: "Trunki is an innovative young company with huge growth planned over the next few years. It's a really exciting time to come on board, and with a team trip to Barcelona in my first week, we definitely started off on the right foot."

Trunki has recently received £3.9 million in funding from the Business Growth Fund and will be invested primarily in marketing and office extension.

The firm plans to open a US office in 2014 which will be led by Toby Davies, who has been with the company since 2009.

Davies said: "I am really proud to be flying the Trunki flag in the US. It's bitter sweet handing the UK over as I love UK retail and have known these customers for a long time.

"However, I know they are in safe hands with Mike and Claire."
