The Toy Trust has announced that its annual Media Auction is now open, with advance bids welcome, ahead of the auction proper which will take place on the evening of the Toy Industry Awards, Tuesday January 23rd.
The event is the second largest annual fundraising activity for the Toy Trust, with all proceeds going to the Toy Trust's chosen charity, which this year is Over The Wall, which provides residential camps for children with profound disabilities and their siblings to play - rebuild self-esteem, conquer new challenges and leave with renewed confidence.
Last year over £70,000 was raised for good causes, and this year it is hoped that the Toy Trust will raise enough funds to provide a special week-long camp for 65 deserving children.
Airtime and printed media spots have been donated from leading broadcast, online, print and trade journals, plus major retailers have also added valuable promotional slots in catalogues. The result is a colossal £135,000+ of media space to bid for. Lots have been received from SKY, Disney, Nickelodeon, Pop TV, Turner, ITV Breakfast, Five, SuperAwesome, Toy News, Toys n Playthings, Toy World, Toymaster, The Entertainer, Argos, and Redan. Details of each can be viewed on the Toy Trust Media Auction page, which will also be updated at intervals with the current highest bids.
"Giving the gift of play is very important to us all and is at the heart of everything we stand for as an industry," said Foye Pascoe, Toy Trust Comittee chair.
"The Toy Trust Committee would, therefore, like to thank all our media partners for their generous donations without which achieving our aims would not be possible. This annual fundraising activity is a popular part of the Toy Industry Awards night and one that everyone benefits from; we are all looking forward to seeing the results. I’d also like to give special thanks to Arena Azure’s Jeff Taylor for his dedication in helping us creating another superb list to bid for.”
