England's Ted Cheeseman pulls no punches and puts the boxing Tomy robot to the test.
Publish date:

Frank Bruno Academy AASE student and Fisher ABC boxer Ted Cheeseman took on the new Tomy Battroborg robots at Toy Fair this week.

The three-time amateur national champion - ranked sixth in the world - staged his first robotic boxing match against fellow Fisher ABC boxer Frankie Gardner from Welwyn.

The cyber-fight was held in a special boxing arena for dual robot combat at the Olympia Exhibition Centre where the boys showed off their boxing skills.

Battroborg's have been a huge hit in Japan, selling 10,000 units in the first weekend of launch.

Now this robot technology is coming to the UK. The toys are 90mm high with motion activated controllers which allow kids to control them ‘avatar’ style as you and they battle it out for real.

Each Battroborg comes with a wireless controller complete with an integrated speaker that emits swinging and punching sound effects to match the action. Up to 20 robots can battle it out at once, allowing for epic-scale cyber battles.
