The firm says its lifestyle business has grown by double digits in the past year, and plans to increase its turnover by 50 per cent by the end of 2015.

As part of its expansion plan it has appointed two new directors to its Executive Board, effective immediately.

Emily MacLennan and Craig Lawton join as category director and financial director respectively.

Speaking about the appointments, managing director, Neil Shinner, said: "Over the last few months we have been carrying out a strategic review of the business with the key objective of creating the next three to five-year plan that satisfies the longer term ambitions of both the shareholders and the wider team at Worlds Apart.

"This growth plan includes bold financial targets, and also the development of new and existing sustainable categories and brands that will ensure the longer term security of the business, whilst providing both challenges and opportunities for everyone working at Worlds Apart.

"To achieve this plan, we need to develop the team at Worlds Apart – this will entail giving the managers in key areas of the business wider responsibilities and instilling in them a sense of long term ownership of the plan and a strong commitment to delivering it.

"Emily and Craig’s appointments are a first step in this process and reflect the commercial roles and responsibilities that they'll both be embracing and reflect the organisational responsibility in directing sizeable teams to drive these future growth plans.

"We believe this announcement demonstrates that the Board is committed to finding and developing the best people, from both within and outside, to help drive this remarkable business forward and achieve our vision of becoming the most successful lifestyle product company in the UK."

Meanwhile, former Apprentice contestant-turned TV presenter Saira Khan will be on the firm's stand at Toy Fair to talk about its new Rock n Rolla product, on Tuesday 25th January from 11.45 – 12.15am. Stand B40.
