Essentially a patented yo-yo with a magnetic base, the Slinger is designed to pick up collectable metal medallions. The skill is in ensuring you don't hit the ground too hard and lost power points.

There are 65 medallions to collect with different ratings and rarity and there are numerou games to lay with the Slingers and Medallions including Face Off, Quick Draw, Manhunt and Sniper.

Barry Hugher, marketing director, commented: "Combining classic boy play patterns with the hottest boy's licence is an exciting proposition for us and our licensing and retail partners.

"With price points ranging from £1.99 for five Medallions to £19.99 for the Battle Pack complete with two Slingers, we believe we have the product, the licence and the price points to make Star Wars Slingers a huge success in 2011."

The Slingers will be available from April and will be supported with a TV advertising campaign and a website. The product can be seen on stand B149 at Toy Fair.
