The new products will use patented Zink Paper, which requires heat from a special printer to activate and colourise dye crystals and uses no ink, enabling the creation of miniaturised printing solutions for cameras, mobile phones, laptops and a host of other devices.

According to Zink, Tomy will use the licensed technology to build a printer into an instant camera for school-age children.

Kantaro Tomiyama, president and CEO of Tomy said: "Zink Imaging has invented one of the most innovative technologies we've seen in decades; we look forward to working with Zink Imaging to develop cutting-edge consumer products by combining the revolutionary Zink Technology with our entertainment know-how and unique marketing for young audiences.”
