The new office will give the firm an important location to showcase products to all geographic markets throughout the year.

In addition to this, the space will host an important launch of Tomy’s new product line at Toy Fair in February 2009 and the pre-shows during the year.

The new German office is sited in Hall 12 of the Nürnburg Messe and will be operational from January 2009. The new office will replace the current location in Koln.

Opening the new permanent office is part of the company’s strategy to utilise core facilities for one to one presentations to retailers and distributors. With this objective in mind, Tomy’s existing showroom facilities are also being extended, including the location in Star House, Hong Kong. The latter will be available in its new format to receive customers and distributors from 4th January 2009.

As part of the new preview strategy, the firm has taken the decision not to exhibit at the January 2009 Toy Fair in London.

Robert Mann, CEO of Tomy said:

“Tomy has a strong product line-up for 2009 and is committed to showcasing the range to its best advantage. We believe this is better achieved on a one to one basis with our customers. We are focussing on the 2009 preview season with showroom presentations in Sutton through November and December.

“Tomy has exciting news including extended ranges for Thomas Track Master, new AquaDraw licenses, product from new distribution partners and the introduction of K'Nex to our range.

"Customers who would normally visit Tomy at ExCel are invited to attend the previews at showrooms in Sutton, Hong Kong or Nürnburg where the complete line will be available. Tomy will also be attending the pre-show in Deauville, France, w/c 17th November 2008.”
