TOMY is celebrating a successful launch of its new Molang soft toy line, after a launch event at the Harrods Knightsbridge store last weekend.

Throughout the weekend, visitors to the Toy Kingdom at Harrods were treated to retail theatre as the firm celebrated the friendship with Molang and Piu Piu. Shoppers also had the chance to play dress-up in the Molang inspired photo-booth and send a postcard to their best friend.

The Molang and Piu Piu characters also appeared in costume, and were on-hand throughout the weekend to meet fans and pose for pictures.

As master licensee, TOMY’s collection is based around the popular animation aired on both Cartoonito and Boomerang. The range consists of collectable, basic and feature plush toys, core figures assortments and a playset that encourage role-play activity and emotional connections to Molang.

“We’re very excited about the Molang event at Harrods, what better place to celebrate the friendship than at the world’s most famous department store," commented Severine Hemms, senior trade marketing manager at TOMY.

“Molang is a special brand in that it appeals to pre-schoolers around the world as well as tweens, teenagers and older fans," added Hemms. "We’re expecting the range to be a huge success at Harrods, with strong sales ahead and throughout the Christmas season.”

The Molang range from TOMY holds the ‘Good Toy Guide’ stamp of approval from Fundamentally Children, all toys that feature the stamp have been independently tested on their fun factor, ease of use and skills development features.
