Dragon's Den star and business mogul Theo Paphitis crowned Asobi as one of his 'Small Business Sunday' winners on the weekend.

The toy distributor was selected as one of the six lucky winners for the online event, known to Twitter as the #SBS Awards.

Last week, Thierry Bourret, owner and founder of Asobi, tweeted Paphitis about his business.

Paphitis re-tweeted Bourret's message to his then 328,905 followers, and as a result, Asobi experienced "online madness" as it gained hundreds of new followers and new visitors to their website.

Asobi is also profiled on a new website, www.theopaphitissbs.com, which is exclusive to Small Business Sunday winners.

Bourret commented: "I created Asobi because as a father, I found myself frustrated by the lack of inspiring toys on the market to buy my son that encouraged creativity and ignited the imagination.

"To gain this support from Theo is just fantastic and will really help raise our profile. As a distributor, Asobi really supports small businesses by selecting independent stores to stock our products.

"I’m so pleased that Theo has recognised the work we are doing, I think the initiative is a great idea and I really admire that it encourages businesses to support each other."

Anyone looking for a re‐tweet from Paphitis should tweet him about their business on Sunday between 5pm and 7.30pm and include the hashtag #SBS.
