A sequel to The LEGO Movie will hit cinemas in 2017.

Warner Bros has confirmed that a follow-up, currently without a title, will land on May 26th, 2017.

The LEGO Movie has been wildly successful both in the UK and the US since it launched earlier this month.

At the worldwide box office, The LEGO Movie, with a $60m budget, has made over $200m in under two weeks, and is the biggest debut of 2014 so far in the UK.

Dan Lin and Roy Lee, producers of The LEGO Movie, will return to handle the film and at the time of writing, it is the only film in the May 26th slot.
