LeapFrog has grown the offering in its App Centre, teaming up with Space Enterprises to introduce pre-school hit The Hive to LeapPad and Leapster Explorer consoles.

Episodes of the series - which airs on ITV and Disney Junior - will be available for exclusive download from the summer. There will initially be three downloadable video apps, with each containing five episodes and priced at £5 per app.

The episodes will be available in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and several countries in the Middle East & Asia from June 19th. Further launches are still to be announced.

"Following LeapPad's success since launch, we are continuing to expand our range of videos, apps and accessories for children," said Robert Dekker, senior marketing director EMEA and Australasia for LeapFrog. "The Hive is a fantastic programme and we are delighted to be adding it to our ever-growing range for LeapPad.

"Popular with children and parents alike, we have no doubt our partnership with The Hive will be welcome news to our fans."

Mark Hurry, licensing director at Space Enterprises, added: "We are thrilled to be partnering with LeapFrog, a brand which is leading the way in enabling children to access digital content that is both fun and educational.

"Not only is The Hive hugely entertaining, each episode also carries a positive learning message that is centred on the importance of family, working together to solve problems, being part of a diverse community and caring for the environment. This has clear synergies with LeapFrog's focus on ensuring an educational experience whilst being fun and engaging at the same time."
