Publish date:

The Tekken Card Tournament free app and browser game has been downloaded one million times in just four days.

The title allows players to fight one another online, plus they'll soon be able to purchase physical Tekken trading cards from toy stores to boost their in-game powers.

As a thank you, publisher Namco Bandai offered a 30 per cent discount to fans for in-game booster packs over the weekend.

“We’re overwhelmed by the incredible reaction of the fans following the launch of Tekken Card Tournament,” said Olivier Comte, Senior Vice President, Namco Bandai Games Europe.

“One million downloads in four days is beyond our expectations, and this promotion is a small thank you to all the fans battling worldwide as we continue working to make the experience even better.”

A statement read: "Physical booster packs of Tekken Card Tournament Game Cards offering additional in-game character and bonuses, plus Augmented Reality characters, are set to arrive in stores soon."
