The TechPet UK app is now available to download for free on iPhone or iPod Touch devices.

It comes ahead of the launch of Bandai’s robotic toy dog TechPet which arrives in early November, priced at £59.99. It incorporates an iPhone or iPod Touch into its animatronic body.

Users can download the app now to level the pet up early and unlock new features.

Bandai spokesperson Chris Pearce told ToyNews: “We are really excited about the launch of the TechPet app on the iTunes store.

“By downloading this free app, it allows users to have early access to their very own virtual pet. Early adopters will be rewarded with new features and functions as they level up in preparation for the release of the TechPet toy in early November.”

Bandai has released the following instructions for downloading the app:

1.Open iTunes and click on the left bar link 'iTunes Store'.
2.On the top black bar in the middle of the screen, click on 'App Store'.
3.Type into the top right hand search bar 'TechPet' as one word.
4.Click ‘Download’.
5.Once downloaded and opened on the Apple device, switch language from 'American' to 'British English' in the TechPet app.
