Sphero launches R2-Q5 droid

The new robot joins the firm's licensed Star Wars range alongside a new update for the Sphero's Edu App.

Sphero has launched the latest addition to its licensed Star Wars robotics line with the imperial spy R2-Q5. The firm has also released new updates for its Sphero Edu App.

The new app update will support R2-D2, BB-9E and Sphero Mini and includes custom droid animations and sounds for each Star Wars droid, Force robot picker for new programs, enabling bot-specific blocks, and omni-robot program.

The new droid will be fully controllable via the app and will also be capable of interacting with previously released products in the series.

The new droid will be available for pre-order from October 10th, and on UK shelves exclusive to John Lewis from 27th October.
