Thierry Bourret, managing director of supplier Asobi, has announced the 12 'Slow Toys' nominated by the toy trade.

The list, which is only open to simple, non-plastic, non-battery operated toys, contains product from a range of suppliers including wood specialists like John Crane, Rokkaplay and ToyShop UK’s ‘Supplier of the Year’, BigJigs.

In no order the 12 toys are:

Lorry shape sorter - Tidlo
Memory - Gogo toys
Robots - Mudpuppy magnets
Ice cream shop - Haba
World History - Brainbox
Sneezy the activity dragon - Tolo
Multi Solution Shape Puzzles – P’kolino
Carpenters tool box – BigJigs Toys
Painta Pets - Krasnaya Dolls (Pictured)
The Rokka - Rokkaplay
Deauville pedal car - Baghera
Baby Truck – Moover

Bourret launched the Slow Toy Movement in reaction to Dream Toys’ Dream Dozen last month.

He describes the alternative Slow Toy Movement as "an inspired concept that aims to promote well made toys that are sourced ethically and leave plenty to a kid's imagination."
