Moose Toys' collectable toy brand is expanding into new categories with a slew of licensing deals and renewals.
This is following the announcement of partnerships with globally recognized brands including, Pez, Build-a-Bear Workshop, Skechers and the launch of the Shopkins Live touring show.
“It’s a thrill for us to continue to work with these top-tier licensees who are leaders in their industries. We have big plans for 2018 and 2019 and we’re excited to build upon the success we have experienced over the last few years,” added Nicole Hardiman, head of global licensing of Moose Toys.
There are now over 1,000 characters to collect in the Shopkins collection, 70 webisodes to watch and in 2016 alone, the brand recorded $1 billion in retail sales across consumer products.
Licensees from all key categories including publishing (Scholastic and Little Bee), apparel (Bentex and Hybrid), Bicycles (Dynacraft) and bedding (Jay Franco) are lining up to renew their partnership agreements as the Shopkins brand continues evolving from a toy property into a cross-category franchise.
“We’re excited to expand our Shopkins publishing program with new assets and story lines covering Shopkins, Shoppies and the new Happy Places and Cutie Car brand extensions. We have had tremendous success with the Shopkins publishing program and look forward to bringing new stories to Shopkins fans,” added Debra Dorfman, VP & publisher, global licensing, media & consumer products of Scholastic Inc.
Shopkins now has over 220 licensees and 18 agents supporting the growth of the brand globally.
