Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expect Hasbro to report first quarter earning of 14 cents per share on revenue of $582.6 million.
They also predict Mattel to break even on revenue of $923.1 million for its first quarter.
Felicia Hendrix, an analyst with Lehman Brothers, said she is "more positive" on Hasbro.
"We believe the company should benefit from the strength of its core and entertainment properties," she said in a statement.
"In contrast, we have less confidence in our Mattel estimates, which could be challenged by cost pressures, though these could be offset by (the effect of a weaker dollar) and share buybacks."
She rates both companies as "equal weight."
