Barry Groves, managing director, Posh Paws said: “We at Posh Paws are delighted with the reaction to Puppy Love. Everybody who has seen and heard the puppy can’t help smiling and some even sing along.
"The first product went into stores in October and we are expecting great things for Christmas but an even better Valentines Day."
The Puppies received a warm welcome at Brand Licensing Europe 2010 recently in London, and a number of new licensing partners are now on board for the music property, including Absolute Garments for apparel and Wesco for clocks and watches, with products due to launch in 2011.
A first in its kind, the Puppies sing the original iconic hit ‘Puppy Love’ written by Paul Anka and a hit for Donny Osmond. Puppy Love is the result of a collaboration between Chrysalis Music, Posh Paws, Universal Music, Big Ideas and DCD Publishing.
Michael Gottlieb, head of licensing and music merchandising, DCD Publishing (pictured) added: “DCD Publishing’s music merchandising division now represents nearly six million songs from the world’s leading music publishers and Puppy Love just demonstrates the market potential for such timeless classics.”
