Playmobil kicks off 40th year with double award win

Playmobil's 40th anniversary celebrations kicked off when the firm picked up two Best New Toy awards at and unveiled a host of new lines at Toy Fair 2014.

The company was handed the awards for its new sets, Ancient Dragon Castle and the Fairy Island.

Among the new lines unveiled at was the limited edition 40th Anniversary RC Police Car with Camera and the RC Pirate Ship. These were joined by the Easter Gift Eggs and the first ever Easter Calendar.

Special Fairies and Dragons collectibles ranges were also unveils as additional products to be released ahead of the full Fairies and Asian Dragon's Land ranges later this year.

Jamie Dickinson, marketing manager for Playmobil UK, said: "We really have had an incredibly successful year at Toy Fair.

"We had extremely high levels of traffic to our magnificent Dragon's Land themed stand, which tied in with one of our key themes for 2014.

"We were blown away, and couldn't have asked for a better start to our special year."

Playmobil will continue to celebrate its 40th year with more announcements scheduled throughout 2014.
