Phase two launch boosts Lego Minifigures sales

First two weeks of phase two shows the collectable going from strength to strength.

In the initial period of phase two Minifigures being available, NPD data shows double the number were sold for the same period of phase one.

Fiona Wright, senior director of Lego UK, said: “The first two weeks phase two Lego Minifigures sales have been even stronger than phase one.

“Playgrounds have been invaded by the new Lego Minifigures with children up and down the country trying to collect all 16.”

Phase one of the Minifigures reached number two best-selling toy in June this year and the Ninja proved to be the favourite in phase one.

Highlights of the new line-up include a disco figure and a surfer with surf board.

The range also includes explorer, karate master, lifeguard, mariachi, mime artist, pharaoh, pop star, ringmaster, skier, spartan warrior, traffic cop, vampire, weightlifter and witch.
