Character Options is celebrating its most successful UK toy Twitter party to date.
Launched to honour its new Peppa Pig Theme Park toy collection, the social media event took place on March 26th and delivered nearly eight million tweets to 872,000 users.
The #PeppasThemeParkParty was coordinated by Character Options and Entertainment One with the help of the online mum's magazine www.UKMums.tv and a team of mummy bloggers.
The party enabled mums at home to discuss the new Theme Park collection and engage in Peppa Pig activities.
Within five minutes, the hashtag was trending and throughout the two hour party it held the position 4th to 6th most talked about Twitter topic in the UK.
A total of 7.94 million tweets were recorded as being delivered by the global monitoring service.
Rachel Copeland-Jones, brand manager at Character Options, said: "After months of planning between the parties, we can categorically say this social media event was a great success.
"Tweets were coming in thick and fast and the comments from the mums at home about our range were great to see.
"Everyone thought the range was superb with countless recommendations to their followers to buy.
"With word of mouth by influential mums being increasingly important in this sector, the Twitter party was the perfect way to complement out traditional marketing strategies of TV and print advertising."
Copeland-Jones added: "We would like to say a big thank you to Entertainment One, Paulton's Park and UKMums.tv for their collaboration. But most of all to the mums at home, without their knowledge of social media and hard work on the days leading up to and including the party this event could not have been a success."
