VTech has launched a Facebook campaign offering mums and dads the chance to win £1,000 of toys.

Parents can upload clips of their babies giggling on the VTech Facebook page. One lucky winner will have their baby’s giggle used as a sound effect on a new VTech Baby toy, "something that money can’t buy".

247 videos have been uploaded since the promotion's launch.

VTech said in a statement: "This successful mechanic has been hugely popular and has given VTech’s Facebook fans an opportunity to share with friends and family across the social network."

The highest rated video recorded 3,120 ‘I love this’ recommendations.

During the running of this competition, the VTech Facebook page ‘likes’ increased from just under 10,000 to over 17,600.

This, coupled with other Facebook activity, has maintained a reach of around 500,000, with more than 1,000 people talking about VTech since the launch.

The giggle competition was promoted through the VTech Club newsletters, the VTech UK Twitter and Facebook pages, the VTech website and in all VTech Baby print advertising.

Clive Richardson, Marketing Director at VTech, said: “We are so pleased with how well the competition has been received. It was created to generate a deeper engagement with the community and give VTech customers something to celebrate – their children’s laughter."
