Paladone has made its international debut into the collectables market with its new line of Transformers minifigures.

The wholesale gift supplier embarked on the launch in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the popular Hasbro franchise.

Sales of the Transformers minifigures have started strongly, the firm tells ToyNews, and Paladone believes this will only increase through the year and up to the launch of the forthcoming movie, Transformers 4: Age of Extinction.

And Paladone is looking to develop the collection with characters from the summer film, for release throughout 2015.

“It is the first time we have done collectables. Our plan is to bolster this new part of our business over time with new products,” Yann Le Bouedec, Paladone’s commercial director explained.

“With the new film on the horizon, we are looking to develop further characters from the movie in 2015.

“We are targeting both independent toy retailers and larger stores that also sell the Transformer magazine. This is a brand with a huge fan base and we believe the popularity of the figures will increase as the year continues.”

Series Two of the Paladone's Transformers collectables will be available from October this year.
