Optimus Prime to transform into a PlayStation to mark 20 years of the console

Japanese toy firm, Takara Tomy and Sony celebrate 20 years of the PlayStation with new Transformer toy in 2015

Japanese toy company Takara Tomy has partnered with Sony to create an Optimus Prime that transforms into a PlayStation One.

The recent announcement follows the transforming Megatron Mega Drive, which is due for release later this year.

The firm’s website reveals that it now plans to create a series of bots with the ability to morph into a PlayStation Two, Three and Four as well as a PS One.

The partnership has been developed in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the PlayStation next year, reports CVG.
