Stars of the big screen have arrived at the New York Toy Fair to help drive Disney Consumer Products' diverse portfolio of toys.
Ranges based on Planes: Fire & Rescue, Star Wars Rebels, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 are on display, and Spider-Man himself turned up to check out the line.
Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield and Jorge Vega arrived to introduce never-before-seen products, while voice of Planes: Fire & Rescue's Dusty, Dane Cook, and Star Wars Rebel's Freddie Prinze Jr also attended the show.
Chris Pratt of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy also appeared via video to share his excitement about the toy line.
“Disney Consumer Products is firing on all cylinders across our diverse franchise portfolio, and at this year’s American International Toy Fair we’re building off a successful 2013 to showcase some of our new and storied properties that will heat up toy aisles in 2014,” said Josh Silverman, executive vice president, global licensing at Disney Consumer Products.
“We’re excited to see these four properties take off at retail as we know these innovative products will resonate with kids and fans who want to create their own heroic stories.”
Spider-Man is swinging back onto the big screen in April, and Hasbro has an Amazing Spider-Man 2 Giant Web Slinging Spider-Man Figure that blasts either Spidey Shot Web Fluid or water by activating the button on his back.
Planes: Fire & Rescue lands in UK cinemas on August 8th, 2014 and products arrive at mass retail starting from July. This includes the Planes Fire Blastin’ Dusty Crophopper toy by Mattel which sees kids take aim, pull the lever and shoot water balls at fire targets.
New animated series Star Wars Rebels appears on screens in the autumn of 2014 on Disney XD and fans will be able to find exclusive and licensed Star Wars products in Disney Store and on disneystore.com this spring, with Star Wars Rebels items arriving from this Autumn.
This includes a LEGO Star Wars Rebels Ghost Ship complete with Rebel minifigures in the two cockpits and Zeb on patrol in the 360-degree rotating turret.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is in cinemas from August 1st, 2014 and fans can wield Star Lord's signiture weapon from the movie with Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Star Lord Quad Blaster by Hasbro. The Quad Blaster expands to reveal double blasters and fires Nerf darts.
