NY TOY FAIR 2011: Bandai to unveil Thunder Cats

Bandai will unveil its new toy range, based on the revamped and reinvented Thunder Cats franchise, in New York.

The eighties favourite returns with a new look series from Warner Bros. Animation ini collaboration with Japanese firm Studio4°C, and is set to air in 2011.

Bandai's never-before-seen toy line is making its debut at the American International Toy Fair in New York and includes four-inch figures ($7.99), each with a weapon and/or accessory that is unique to each character and includes an exclusive embedded magnet activation system that allows the figure to interact with, and activate unique features in, multiple ThunderCats products, including the Deluxe ThunderTank.

The Tank is available with a four-inch figure ($29.99) which can ride inside and unlock special ThunderTank features, including "ThunderCats, Ho!" sound effects, with the embedded magnet technology. In addition, ThunderBikes can be launched from the ThunderTank.

Lastly, Lion-O's Deluxe Sword of Omens ($19.99) has an extendable blade plus lights and sounds.
