NPD: Put toys in Easter eggs

Analyst urges toy makers to tap into the Easter egg market.

Toy sales were 35 per cent higher in Easter – more than at any other time in the first quarter, according to NPD. 

This, coupled with the decline in sales of chocolate eggs as parents look for healthier alternatives, could mean there is an opportunity for the toy industry to tap into the Easter market, reportsThe Grocer.

NPD said Easter toy sales could be further boosted with the introduction of large plastic eggs containing toys priced at around £25.

Companies such as Playmobil are already producing plastic eggs including toys (pictured).
