NPD: LeapPad is number one in September

Exclusive NPD data shows that the LeapFrog toy is the most valuable item as the toy market grows three per cent.

Total toy market performance slowed in September, with value sales down four per cent. However, year to date, the total market continues to grow, up three per cent. The average selling price for September declined to £6.68 from £6.80 last year – the first time it has fallen in 2011.

LeapFrog’s LeapPad Explorer tablet was the number one item across total toys for the month, and VTech’s Innotab has also positively impacted the category since launch.
