Although the electronic toy maker has its own kids' version of the iPad, the LeapPad, this is the firm’s first venture onto the App Store.
LeapFrog says Scout’s ABC Garden incorporates features which have made the firm a leader in the learning space, with products like the Explorer.
The maiden app customises the experience based on the child’s name, favourite food, favourite colour and favourite animal. It is designed to “encourage children to explore letter names and sounds step by step.”
Craig Hendrickson, senior vice president and chief product officer for LeapFrog, explained: “We are taking personalisation to a higher level by alerting parents when their child is learning, and giving parents the ability to share these important learning milestones with friends and family through email and social channels.
“LeapFrog is bringing everything we know about learning and fun to the app marketplace with our adorable and very successful puppies, Scout and Violet”, he added
Scout’s ABC Garden is available on the App Store now for £2.39
