Following on from Toys R Us US' predictions for the top toys, released yesterday, Argos has had its say on what is set to top Christmas lists in the UK.

The retailer has predicted that talk-back toys are set to be 'the new toy craze' of Christmas this year, and as such the 'fab 15' list includes a number of such toys.

The list features a range of talkative toys including Dance Star Mickey, Let's Rock Elmo, Moshi Monsters Mosh'n'Chat and Fijit Friends.

Andrea Abbis, toys trading manager at Argos commented: "Many of this year’s top toys are almost like friends for children, with functions that allow them to talk and respond. They’re great for encouraging communication skills, interaction and a sense of friendship."

Argos' list is split into three sections - pre-school, boys and girls. For the boys Dr Who Children’s Dalek Ride-In, is set to be a hit.

Perennial favourite Barbie joins the girls list with Barbie Puppy Water Park and the pre-school chart features electronic learning toys, The LeapPad Explorer Tablet and the Kidizoom Twist camera.

Commenting on the selection of the list, Abbis continue: "We normally select a top ten but there was so much choice this year we opted for the Fab Fifteen, with five boys toys, five girls toys and five for pre-schoolers.

"As number one toy retailer, many parents and grandparents have come to rely on the annual list to get the inside track on what will be on Christmas lists and we wanted to provide them with as much guidance as possible.”
