BBC Worldwide has made the 23rd TV sale of In The Night Garden - with TVE in Spain due to air the show from September 10th.

El Jardin de los Sueños will feature as part of TVE's popular Los Lunnis time slot, airing at 8am. Hasbro, the global master to licensee for the property, is hoping to replicate the success of the merchandise in the UK with the launch of seven key lines in Spain in time for Christmas.

Each line will focus on the core characters - Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka. Bi-plano, the licensing agent for BBC Worldwide in Spain, is also confirmed to launch new licensees, while Big Picture has signed a deal to distribute DVDs from Easter 2009.

"We are thrilled to be continuing our relationship with TVE to bring the magic of In The Night Garden to Spain," said Monisha Shah, director of developed markets, EMEA for BBC Worldwide. "The success of the show in the UK is now being rolled out across the world and this broadcast in Spain is a significant moment for the brand.

"We are hopeful that this imaginative and magical show captivates the Spanish population in the same way it has done in the UK and in countries across the world."

Manuel Farelo, director of children's programming for TVE, added: "In The Night Garden reinforces TVE's nursery programmes' quality commitment. This way the company encourages trustworthy programmes for parents and educators."
