ToyNews has welcomed a new member to the team in the form of staff writer, Jack Ridsdale.

Ridsdale joins as the editorial team undergoes a changing of the guard, waving off Billy Langsworthy following his four years at ToyNews.

For the last 13 months, Langsworthy has held the position as editor across ToyNews and its sister title Licensing.biz. He now leaves to pursue new challenges within the toy inventors and designers community, co-establishing a new association within the arena.

Robert Hutchins now steps into the role of editor on Licensing.biz and ToyNews, while Jade Burke has been promoted to the role of deputy editor.

Together, the team has welcomed Ridsdale – a young writer who boasts experience with Gloucestershire Media and NME - to his new role.

“There’s been weeping almost nightly from more than one member of the team since Billy announced his decision to leave us – and not all of it tears of joy,” said Robert Hutchins, editor, ToyNews.

“We wish him the best of luck with his new venture. Luckily, in Jack we have found the ideal replacement, a writer who boasts some excellent experience in journalism and isn’t too bad at a tea round, either.

“We look forward to introducing him to the toy industry.”

Ridsdale can be contacted at jridsdale@nbmedia.com.
