ToyNews and Licensing.biz have appointed a new publisher, heading up a stronger, more focused sales and editorial team.

Lisa Carter has taken over complete day-to-day control of the brands, driving editorial and commercial development, plus event management and bespoke solutions for the numerous business partners of both ToyNews and Licensing.biz.

Carter (nee Foster) relaunched ToyNews as managing editor back in 2000 when Intent Media acquired the title. Having worked across many of Intent Media’s other publications, including MCV, BikeBiz, PCR and Musical Instrument Professional, Carter switched back to ToyNews and sister brand Licensing.biz earlier this year.

Carter’s promotion to publisher comes following a reorganisation of the team this year: stalwart Samantha Loveday remains as editor, with Dominic Sacco having moved over from MCV as deputy editor. They are supported by staff writer Lewis Tyler. Meanwhile, Jodie Holdway has recently joined the team as sales manager.

As well as driving the ToyNews and Licensing.biz brands forward, Carter will be looking to launch associated events for the two titles going forward.

''Lisa taking this management role on ToyNews and Licensing.biz completes a strengthening of the team ahead of further development for both brands,” said Intent Media managing director Stuart Dinsey.

“We are steaming towards 2013 with stronger reach than ever across print, online and social media.

“New initiatives for both brands will be rolled out between now and spring and I'm delighted that we will as ever focus on content and community as our main drivers.”
