New CEO for LeapFrog

US industry veteran John Barbour has joined the firm as its new chief executive.

Incumbent CEO Bill Chiasson will move up to become chairman of the company, while former Toys R Us and RealNetworks heavyweight John Barbour becomes the new chief from 7th March.

"We are very excited that John is joining LeapFrog as CEO," said Chiasson. "John has a 25-year track record of building global consumer and internet businesses in both traditional retail and direct-to-consumer environments.

"He previously led the successful turnaround of the Toys R Us International and US divisions, and built its online business,, into the number one global online retailer of toys and games. John also served as President of the GameHouse Division of RealNetworks, a leading, vertically integrated and global casual video games business."
