It's been another weekend of big news for the Scrabble brand - with media including The Independent, Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, Metro and The Sun covering the National Scrabble Championship in London.
Wayne Kelly from Warrington was declared the winner after a best of five match against Southampton's Gary Oliver. Kelly also won £2,000 in cash.
He sealed the win by playing 'travails', which scored him 74 points and gave him an unassailable lead in the deciding match.
"I was really nervous about the final - it is so much easier to play when no one else is watching your every move," said Kelly. "I really didn't want to settle for second place again. I am so happy to have won."
The 40th National Scrabble Championship final took place at the Hallam Conference Centre, London, yesterday (Sunday November 6th).
