Model Railways and Model Construction zones merged and strengthened for Spielwarenmesse 2019

Spielwarenmesse 2019 is merging its product segments Model Railway and Accessories and Model Construction, Hobbies into a single new product group called Model Railway and Model Construction in Halls 7 and 7A.

The international diversity of both industries will be reflected in one location. For example, major brand manufacturers such as Tamiya, Marklin, NOCH and Bachmann will join small niche suppliers to offer a mix of products for trade buyers.

The profile of the Model Construction segment will be given a sharper definition, Manufacturers whose products are more relevant to the toy trade will switch to the Electronic Toys category in Hall 4A.

Model railways, accessories for building dioramas and scenery will feature alongside die-cast models, innovative RC and RTR models. Hall 7A will likewise host the special area for small series manufacturers.

Ernst Kick, CEO of the Spielwarenmesse, said: “By merging Model Railways and Model Construction we are resetting and strengthening both segments. We are creating a product group that is equipped for the future and reflects the interests of our trade visitors.”

The move has already been met with a positive response from exhibitors. Hall 7A is already nearly fully booked with a few spaces to spare.
