Mega Brands is once again up teaming up with leading UK toy retailers and parenting sites to launch Bloktober.

The campaign, back due to the success of last year’s event, aims to drive promotional savings across its number one selling pre-school range, Mega Bloks First Builders.

Retailers on board for Bloktober include Asda, Toys R Us, Smyths and The Entertainer, each offering its own exclusive savings on Mega Bloks First Builders products during October.

An exciting new addition to the activity is online party organisers House Party.

House Party will be managing 100 parties in homes up and down the UK which will be promoted and reported on via its unique social media operation.

There will also be a national competition run via Daily Express for ten readers to win Mega prizes worth £100 each and the firm has also teamed up with the Daily Mirror to offer 12,000 sample bags to readers.

“This campaign was so successful in its first year there was no question that it wouldn’t run again for 2014 and we’re delighted to have even more retailers on board this year," said Pete Fuller, European marketing manager for Mega Brands.

"Bloktober is the perfect time for mums and dads to take advantage of exclusive savings on Mega Bloks First Builders products, plus it gives us the opportunity to highlight the developmental benefits that block play brings This year’s Bloktober celebrations are bigger and better than last year with more up for grabs for parents and kids to enjoy.”

Print and digital activity to support the month-long campaign includes retailer website takeovers, display advertising, Facebook and Twitter posts, e-shots and e-newsletters.

There will also be a two-tiered package running on top parenting website Netmums with a competition to win Mega Bloks products plus a display campaign directing mums to Bloktober retailer offers.
