Mattel's blaster brand BoomCo is engaging with boys this October half term via a partnership with the UK’s premier five-a-side football operator, Powerleague.

The partnership will see BOOMco themed parties take place at key Powerleague centres until the end of the year as well as a national competition to find the UK’s BOOMco BlastMaster Champion.

Kids will be invited to test their skills of accuracy, distance and speed through a range of fun challenges throughout the competition.

A marketing programme will support the championship and drive brand engagement through the BOOMco website by promoting the winners’ scores, flyer and voucher distribution at Powerleague centres and pitch side advertising.

A range of BoomCo products will be used during the challenges including the Rapid Madness, Twisted Spinner and Farshot.

“Powerleague is a fantastic partner for us and gives us the ideal opportunity to engage with our target market during their leisure time," said Wendy Hill, director of customer marketing and brand communications.

"Football is a top interest for boys, so the collaboration is a great opportunity us to demonstrate BoomCo USP’s direct to boys and get them excited about our range of blasters. We know kids love the brand when they get their hands on it and this was brought to life last week at the Toytesters.tv Awards which is judged by kids, as BoomCo scooped two fantastic awards for best marketing and favourite range.”

Nigel Hargreaves, commerical director, at Powerleague added: “We are delighted to be working with BoomCo, the championships add an extra fun element of testing boys skills and is a perfect accompaniment to our birthday party experience.”
