Mattel is giving away more than £80,000 to charities across the UK this Christmas.
The toy giant has announced the start of its third annual global 12 Days of Play charity programme.
UK activities planned include everything from painting a sensory room at Thames Valley Adventure Playground to carol singing in Maidenhead town centre for Rosie’s Rainbow Fund.
Mattel UK has also donated toys for local hospitals and causes.
£12,000 will be given to Alexander Devine towards a nurse’s yearly salary, £34,000 to Thames Valley Adventure Playground for an activity trail and water play area and £39,000 to Sebastian’s Action Trust for a new seven-seater vehicle.
In Los Angeles, local children, Mattel employees and special guests WWE superstar The Miz and WWE Diva Eve will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most snowmen built in one hour.
Activity is taking place throughout December in 14 locations across the US and in nearly 30 other countries.
A statement sent to ToyNews read: "With play at the heart of Mattel’s charity programme it hopes its efforts, and the money raised, will eliminate barriers to play for many children, raise awareness of the importance of play in a child’s life and enrich the lives of those children in need."
